Recipe For Cremation
A U.S. Army veteran and cancer survivor in Charleston, West Virginia had instructions to the funeral home where he has a prepaid cremation tattooed on his arm:  "Barlow Bonsall cook @ 1700-1800 for 2 to 3 hours".  He said, "I'm not afraid of death.  I'm afraid of living and not being able to take care of myself".

My spouse is looking forward to a bake and shake after his demise.  I'm in favor of donating my body to science.  I suppose I could be tattooed with carving instructions and a request to be served up with some pumpkin pie.  If they're busy with pie they might not notice all of my imperfections.  And I'm not afraid of death either.  I'm afraid of that overwhelming feeling of helplessness that will most likely precede it.

Perhaps Mr. Bonsall is just trying to salvage some sense of control.  Aren't we all?
